Sunlight Introduces Sunlight BonAge to Researchers at PAS

Following the success of Sunlight BonAge in clinical and research settings around the world, Sunlight is introducing the device to researchers who are attending the PAS Annual Meeting in San Francisco on May 1-4, 2004.
Sunlight BonAge is the only ultrasound-based objective device available for measuring bone age in patients aged 5-18 that provides immediate results. Physicians use the device to quantitatively determine bone age instead of using the traditional method of analyzing a wrist X-ray. BonAge uses ultrasound to measure bone acoustic parameters at the wrist and provides a bone age result in years and months.

Sunlight BonAge uses a proprietary gender- and ethnicity-based algorithm to provide a numeric bone age result in years and months. It produces automatic results, avoiding the need for analysis of X-rays by physicians. "Clinical studies have shown that the process is highly precise and accurate," explains Sunlight's Medical Director, Dr. Irit Yaniv. "Physicians can use Sunlight BonAge to track bone age development for patients with growth disorders on a regular basis."
